Responsibilities:
ATEA is a leading industry provider of turn-key environmental solutions particularly waste gas and exhaust treatment, high temperature incineration, heat recovery and wastewater treatment systems. The firm provides project definition and preliminary design, detailed engineering and construction, plant commissioning and start-up, operations and project management.
ATEA is offering a challenging and rewarding career opportunity for a Lead Engineer (LE) to join their growing team. Reporting to the Group Engineering Manager this position is based in Shanghai, however, frequent domestic and international travel to meet project needs may be necessary.
The major task of the LE is the assistance/guidance to all engineering disciplines, assisting in the development, implementation and enforcement of engineering processes/workflows and standards as applicable. The main focus of the position should be to ensure that the design integrity is not compromised and to manage and facilitate effective and efficient completion of basic and detailed designs.
This is senior technical position and the ideal candidate would be a very detail orientated and experienced engineer with a strong aptitude for training and mentoring younger engineers.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide technical leadership and raise competence of each individual engineering discipline;
2. Review engineering work for technical accuracy;
3. Supervise and lead groups of professional engineers;
4. Supervision of engineering inputs to the process / basic engineering design in the development of technical solutions and tender processes;
5. Forecast requirements for resources by discipline and assist project managers in the allocation of those resources within particular project scopes;
6. Overall supervision of engineering detailed design and assistance to project managers to complete engineering designs within budget and schedule;
7. Participation during design reviews;
8. Participate in HAZOP studies as necessary and as required by clients;
9. Check compliance with QA/QC requirements and overall quality of work;
10. Assist the detail study and product development / modularization / standardizing of current ATEA solutions portfolio / program;
11. Maintain and improve engineering management systems and processes;
12. Inter-discipline communication development;
13. Assist in the development of staff management, training and mentoring programs;
14. Assist project managers to prepare project reports on monthly basis;
Requirements:
1. Require minimum 15 years experience in detailed engineering design and design management, developing design basis, P&IDs, technical specifications and data sheets, technical bid evaluation and vendor data;
2. The ideal candidate would have a technical specialization matching one or more of atea’s core technology areas;
3. Strong background in design and construction projects;
4. Bachelors degree or higher in chemical / process / mechanical engineering;
5. Excellent knowledge of international codes, standards and regulations;
6. Superior communication skills with the ability to mentor, manage and develop engineering staff;
7. Fluent written and spoken English.
